Walking the Lower Himalayas in November
With singing classes, sound meditations and concerts from Kavisha Mazzella

November 2026 Walking and Singing Trip
Our Walking and Singing Trip offers spectacular walking with panoramic views of the Himalayas including Everest. With ARIA-award winning songwriter and choir director Kavisha Mazzella leading daily singing options, this trip will suit both keen walkers and people who love to sing. All voices are welcome and the atmosphere is warm, joyful and uplifting.
JO’S FAMILY STORY
This journey begins on the Darjeeling Himalaya Railway, which holds personal significance for me as my grandfather served as its Engineer and General Manager. Meeting people whose families have been connected to the railway for generations gives a warm insight into community life and local heritage.
WHAT MAKES THIS TRIP SPECIAL
• Scenic walks up high with exceptional views and down low through villages and forests
• Daily singing – classes, sound meditations or jam sessions
• Heart-opening songs that bring people together
• A strong sense of connection and shared experience
• Opportunities to enjoy local music and small concerts
• An energising blend of creativity, community and nature
• Fourteen days to fully immerse in a carefully curated journey

THE CURATION AND FEEL OF THIS JOURNEY
This journey unfolds through long-standing local relationships that create a warm and authentic experience. The days are unhurried, allowing space for walking, singing and natural connection with the community. You visit places chosen for their beauty and their cultural significance, not for commercial tourism.
This trip has the ability to utterly transport you. It offers deep connection with people and community, awe-inspiring walks and dawn views up close to the highest mountains in the world. Jo, Bhusan and Kavisha’s heart centred leadership and sharing will also warm your soul and send you home nourished and full of rich experiences.
Kavisha Mazzella, Singing Teacher
Kavisha is an ARIA-winning songwriter and choir leader who has released eight albums and founded several Italian choirs across Australia. She received an Order of Australia for her work sharing the stories of migrant and refugee communities through music.

Her singing workshops are joyful and heart-opening, filled with songs that bring people together in peace and harmony. During our trip, Kavisha will also present special concerts for our group.
This trip is uniquely suited to walkers, or singers, or both. Enjoy the aspects of the program that work for you. The groups are small enough that we can meet everyone’s needs.

YOUR GUIDES

Jo Cresswell
I’ve been leading walking, skiing and cycling tours since the 1980s across Europe and Australia, and am delighted to now offer these Himalayan journeys. I’m a musician on concertina and piano, a meditator and yogi, a qualified cross-country ski instructor, and have spent many years managing folk festivals and concert tours.
Bhusan Chettri
Bhusan has over 25 years of experience as a high-altitude trekking and tour guide throughout Nepal, Northern India and Sikkim. He brings vast knowledge, calm leadership, and a wonderful sense of humour to our trips.

(And yes, he’s funny, intelligent, and a total pain in the arse, but we wouldn’t have it any other way!)
